December 8, 2021 when Silaynon comes out in Silay Public Plaza as they witness the christmas opening of lights. Silaynon are very excited to attend in this opening of lights not only because of the fun watching the lights lighten up the street, its also the opening of Silay dancing fountain that adds up to the excitement of Silaynon. Bad weather didn't stop the people to visit the plaza. Lights On comes also with dancing presentation from different Barangay.

A new found paradise in the QUEEN CITY OF THE SOUTH, the Anika island resort,. Nestled in Famous Santa Fe Bantayan Island, Cebu. The resort had an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant and offer a free wifi throughout the property.

Its a high end resort because its a little expensive but you wont regret that you spend your money here, the comfort and relaxation they offer is excellent that you will think to return here. Mostly visitors here are foreign nationals,but filipino will difinitely enjoy here too.

A front view when you rent a Beachfront room Watching the sunset while relaxing outside the room, its the most beautiful sunset i saw. This is the beachfront room, unfortunately we come suddenly and forgot to book a room ahead, so we got this one beachfront room, its i guess the expensive room they have, its ₱4,500.00 for overnight stay, its quite expensive but its worth it, the room is nice and complete amenities, very good bathroom, two bed, with tv and fast wifi, they give island souvenirs also for two, we receive an necklace island souvenir with name of the resort. The Resort had a free service going to the port and taking visitors to the port if you book ahead. But be careful when you are taking tricycle. In our case some porter in bantayan port is asking us to take a tricycle for only ₱20.00, and it will be waiting for us in the port, but when we arrive in Santa fe port and the tricycle driver is waiting for us they collect ₱250.00 from us, if you will go in Anika resort its very near the port you can even walk going here from the port so be careful with the transportation. While planning for another adventure, we heard about Sea of Clouds in Mabinay Negros Oriental. As a natural adventurer i got excited to visit the place so me and my friends planned to hike the Pinayun-an Peak where they say you can experience the Sea of Clouds.

Pinayun-an Peak is located in Sitio Bato Mabinay Negros Oriental, a 2 to 3 hours travel from Bacolod City. To get there you can ride a Ceres bus going to Mabinay or you can ride on a Van for Hire in front of Ceres bus South Terminal. Since we travel during the night we ride in a Van for Hire and paid ₱250.00. Ceres bus fare is ₱224.00 but during the normal time of day bus fare is only ₱173.00, so if you are in a hurry Van for hire is a good choice.
Upon arriving in Mabinay, we have a midnight snack in 7-ELEVEN where we meet the employees of Mabinay tourism office and got some advice from them, according to them we are in perfect timing on hiking the sea of clouds because of the weather. We wait for about 3 hours before we decided to start hiking. Before you reach the Pinayun-an you have to ride a motorcycle which locally called Habal-Habal for about 7 to 10kms. If you go to hike early in the morning you have to pay ₱50.00/person minimum of two passengers but regular fare is ₱15.00 during normal hiking hours.
We start our hike at 3:30am, we are the first hikers to hike on that day, We dont have a tour guide because they dont offer a tour guide there, you have to hike by your own. Pinayun-an Peak is a long hike so you have to conditioned your body and have enough water with you. Since its our first time in this place its hard for us to look for the right way going to the peak that it tooks 1 hour or 2 to reach the peak.

Reaching the top is hard, its very dark and slippery, because of the rain the other day makes the hikes more tough, but reaching the peak is breathtaking view that you wouldn't want to miss!.

One of Sagay City's pride is the S or tongue-shaped white sandbar lies in Middle of Marine Reserve protected area. A 30 minutes travel in a pumpboat from Sagay Port.

HOW TO GET THERE:

From Bacolod City, take a ride on any Ceres Bus bound to Sagay City or Escalante City, or you can take Van for Hire.
Ceres Bus Fare:  ₱127.00
Van for Hire Fare:  ₱100.00

Upon arriving on Sagay Bus terminal you have to ride a tricycle going to Sagay Port with ₱15.00 fare. On the port you can rent a pumpboat going to Carbin Reef. Pumpboat rent is worth ₱1,200.00 for minimum of 1 - 10 person passengers and ₱1,500.00 for 11-15 passengers. The pumpboat allows only upto 15 passengers going to the sandbar due to strict regulation of Bantay Dagat for the safety of visitors while going to the island.

Food : since no restaurant or canteen on the island, visitors are allowed to bring foods and drinks.

Garbage Bag: its prohibited to throw a garbage on the island due to its Garbage In/ Garbage Out policy, every visitors are not allowed to throw the garbage on the area.



You can enjoy and have fun under the heat of the sun in this beautiful island with friends, enjoy water activities, but please keep in mind that taking shells, corals, starfish and any marine wildlife are strongly prohibited.

A 3 hours travel from the capital city of Negros Occidental, Bacolod City lies a beautiful white sand beach resort in a beautiful island of Sipaway,the whispering Palms Island Resort. Its a long travel from Bacolod City, approximately 3 hours on a bus trip, bus fare is ₱144.00 from Ceres Bacolod South terminal to San Carlos Terminal, from San Carlos Terminal we did ride a Pedicab or we called trisikad in a local term, going to Pantalan or Port its worth ₱8.00,and then we transfer to a pumpBoat going to the island, the pumpboat is worth  ₱15.00 upon arriving on the island we need to transfer to a motorcycle which they called Habal-habal going to the whispering Palms resort and its another  ₱25.00.
Arriving in Whispering Palms resort is all worth the effort, its a nice place,a good place to relax and having fun, entering the resort will cost you  ₱200.00 for Dayguest from 8am to 5pm,in this entrance fee include entrance fee for the whispering Palms resort,entrance to Sipaway Native Park,entrance to their Minizoo, free beach cottage,free picnic cottage,free grill facility,free sea cottage and include corkage fee all for only  ₱200.00,if you want to have a meal you can add  ₱150.00 to the entrance fee to have a free meal on their canteen. Overnight stay are available also,the rate ranges from  ₱1,200.00 to  ₱1,500.00 for 2 person.
This is the beautiful pool located outside the main entrance of the resort and you can take a dip here for  ₱50.00.

And what makes more exciting reason to be here in this place is their watersport.Banana boat,snorkeling,kayaking is some of the watersport you can try in this resort that you will surely love,unfortunately me and my friends haven't try this watersports activity due to lack of time but we are still planning to enjoy this activity when we will get back to the resort.
The 3 hour travel is really worth it if you saw how heavenly the place is and its cheaper thinking that can enjoy the ammenities and the whole resort for only  ₱200.00.

MAYANA'S PEAK

If you are a nature lover and a trek and hiking enthusiast you will surely love the famous Peak in Negros Occidental the Mayana's Peak located in Sitio Punod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

HOW TO GET THERE:

When you are from Bacolod you have to ride a Ceres bus going to San Carlos City. Tell the driver that you will be dropped on Sitio Punod, the bus fare is ₱120.00 from Bacolod to Sitio Punod, San Carlos City, when you arrive in Sitio Punod a motorist will ask you if you are going to mayana's peak,there you have to ride on single motorcycle which they called Habal-Habal.
The habal-habal fare is ₱100.00 depending on the weather. If the weather is bad they will collect  ₱150.00 to  ₱200.00.

Before you can go to the mountain you have to log your name and signed a waiver that are available in the tourist desk near the mountain. There they will provide you a tour guide that will accompany you going on the top of the mountain.

Going to the top you must be physically ready and had lots of water with you, its a tough climb that some people almost lost their breath, if you get tired dont hesitate to tell to your tour guide and friends to rest to gather more energy to climb.

At the time we reach the top, the mountain was covered with a thick fog that make us wait for about half an hour to let the fog disappear, when the fog was disappeared there you can see the breathtaking view of the entire City of San Carlos.
